Canon Publication & Use

Version 0.1 — June 2026

The Information Architecture Design (IAD) Canon is a developing body of theoretical work authored by Jason Hobbs and made available through the IAD Framework.

This page outlines the authorship, publication status, attribution requirements, and conditions of use associated with Canon materials.

Authorship

Unless otherwise stated, Canon modules, glossary entries, auxiliary materials including philosophical notes, historical notes and supplementary notes, and related theoretical materials are authored by Jason Hobbs.

The IAD Framework serves as the publication, participation, and development environment through which these materials are made available.

Authorship and ownership of the Canon remain distinct from the operation of the Framework itself.

Publication Status

The IAD Canon is an actively developing body of work.

Materials may be released in draft, developmental, provisional, experimental, or evolving forms. Participants should therefore recognise that individual modules, glossary entries, notes, and related materials may be revised, expanded, restructured, superseded, or withdrawn as the Canon continues to develop.

Where available, version numbers should be used when referencing Canon materials.

Attribution

The IAD Framework encourages discussion, critique, teaching, research, and scholarly engagement with Canon materials.

Where Canon materials are referenced in publications, presentations, teaching materials, research outputs, dissertations, theses, reports, articles, conference papers, or other public works, appropriate attribution should be provided.

Attribution should identify Jason Hobbs as the author and the IAD Framework as the publication source through which the material was made available.
