These Terms of Service govern access to and participation in the Information Architecture Design (IAD) Framework website, events, memberships, publications, learning activities, and related services.
By accessing the website, registering for an activity, purchasing access to an event, becoming a member, or otherwise participating in Framework activities, you agree to these Terms of Service.
About the IAD Framework
The Information Architecture Design (IAD) Framework is an independent educational, research, and community-building initiative concerned with the study and development of information architecture design.
The Framework provides access to events, publications, recordings, learning materials, memberships, discussions, and other activities intended to support inquiry, learning, and participation.
Participation
Participation in Framework activities is voluntary.
By participating in an activity, event, membership programme, discussion, or other offering, participants agree to engage in a constructive, respectful, and professional manner.
The IAD Framework reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate participation where behaviour is considered disruptive, abusive, unlawful, discriminatory, or inconsistent with the principles of constructive participation.
Where reasonably possible, concerns will first be addressed through communication and dialogue.
Recorded Activities and Participant Contributions
Many IAD Framework activities involve live participation, discussion, collaborative inquiry, studio exercises, presentations, workshops, or other forms of contribution.
Where an activity is designated as recorded, participants acknowledge and agree that audio, video, chat contributions, discussion content, participant names, questions, comments, creative outputs, photographs, submitted materials, and other forms of participation may be recorded and incorporated into Framework materials.
Such materials may be used for educational, archival, membership, publication, promotional, research, or future Framework purposes.
Specific recording and participation notices will be provided on relevant event, activity, or registration pages where applicable.
Participants who do not wish to be included in recorded activities should review the participation options available for the relevant activity. Where reasonably possible, alternative forms of access or participation may be offered.
Registration and Access
Some Framework activities require registration, membership, payment, or other forms of access authorisation.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that information supplied during registration is accurate and that they are able to access the platforms, services, and materials required for participation.
Specific participation requirements and preparation guidance are provided on the relevant activity or event page where applicable.
Communications
The IAD Framework primarily conducts its communications electronically.
Unless otherwise specified, notices, updates, event information, participation details, and other correspondence may be provided by email or through the relevant online platform used to support an activity.
Participants are responsible for providing and maintaining a valid email address and for monitoring communications relating to activities for which they have registered.
Payments
Payments for events, memberships, publications, or other activities are processed through approved third-party payment providers.
By making a payment, participants agree to the pricing, access conditions, and associated policies applicable to the activity concerned.
Refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling are governed by the IAD Framework Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, materials made available through the IAD Framework, including publications, recordings, written content, educational resources, presentations, visual materials, and related content, remain the intellectual property of their respective authors, creators, or rights holders.
Access to Framework materials does not transfer ownership of intellectual property rights.
Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, published, sold, or otherwise reused beyond reasonable personal, educational, or research use without appropriate permission.
Third-Party Platforms and Services
The IAD Framework relies upon a range of third-party platforms and services to support registrations, communications, payments, recordings, memberships, and event delivery.
While reasonable efforts will be made to ensure continuity of service, the IAD Framework cannot guarantee the uninterrupted availability of third-party services beyond its control.
Changes to Activities and Services
The IAD Framework reserves the right to modify, reschedule, update, suspend, or discontinue activities, events, publications, memberships, or services where reasonably necessary.
Where changes materially affect participants, reasonable efforts will be made to communicate such changes in a timely manner.
Privacy
The collection, use, and protection of personal information is governed by the IAD Framework Privacy Policy.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, participation in Framework activities is undertaken at the participant’s own discretion and risk.
The IAD Framework will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or third-party losses arising from participation in activities, use of materials, or interruptions affecting services beyond its reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms of Service is intended to exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in Framework activities, services, policies, legal requirements, or operational practices.
The most current version published on the website shall apply.
