The Information Architecture Design (IAD) Framework is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of participants, members, readers, collaborators, and visitors to the website.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and the steps taken to protect it.

General Principles

The IAD Framework collects only the information reasonably necessary to support participation in activities, memberships, communications, events, publications, and related services, and processes personal information in a manner consistent with applicable South African privacy legislation, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Personal information is handled in good faith and is not sold, rented, or knowingly disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes.

Depending upon the nature of an activity or interaction, the IAD Framework may collect information such as:

  • registration and participation information;
  • membership information;
  • communication preferences;
  • payment-related information provided through approved payment providers.

How Information Is Used

  • administer registrations and memberships;
  • provide access to events, recordings, publications, or other resources;
  • communicate information relating to activities and participation;

Information will only be used for purposes reasonably connected to the operation of the IAD Framework.

Where activities are recorded, participant contributions may be included within recordings, educational materials, publications, archives, membership resources, or related Framework materials, as described in the relevant activity documentation.

Payments

Payments are processed through approved third-party payment providers.

The IAD Framework does not ordinarily store complete card payment information.

The IAD Framework currently uses Paystack to process payments. Participants are encouraged to review Paystack’s applicable privacy and security policies.

Third-Party Platforms and Services

The IAD Framework currently makes use of a range of third-party platforms and services, which may include Paystack, Zoom, Google Workspace services (such as Google Drive and Google Calendar), Luma, and other tools used to support registrations, communications, payments, recordings, memberships, document sharing, and event delivery.

These services may collect, process, or store information in accordance with their own policies and terms. Participants are encouraged to review the policies of any third-party service they choose to use in connection with Framework activities.

Communications

Participants may receive communications relating to activities, registrations, memberships, events, publications, updates, or other Framework-related matters.

Data Security

Reasonable efforts will be made to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, disclosure, or alteration. However, no internet-based service or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
